The IMA's Horticulture staff constantly cultivates the gardens and grounds with new plants and flowers.

DESCRIPTION
The IMA purchases and cultivates thousands of plants during all seasons of the year. Most annuals are planted in the early summer months. Bulbs are generally planted in late September and early October.

EXPLANATION
This statistic represents the total number of new plantings on IMA grounds this year. Of the 105 shrubs planted, five are located in 100 Acres: The Virgina B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park, scheduled to open in June 2010. The total is updated by the IMA's Horticulture Department.
