DESCRIPTION
The IMA purchases and cultivates thousands of plants during all seasons of the year. Most annuals are planted in the early summer months. Bulbs are generally planted in late September and early October. The IMA's next planting will not occur until March 2009.

EXPLANATION
This statistic represents the total number of new plantings on IMA grounds this year, including the Art and Nature Park. The total is updated by the IMA's Horticulture Department.
