Welcome to IMA Dashboard, an ongoing effort to measure various aspects of the Museum's performance. We welcome your comments on our progress in serving the IMA's mission. To navigate the Dashboard in particular areas, the tabs at the top of the screen drop down to allow for more detail. The goal of the Dashboard is to seek to quantify and report out on areas of activity of general interest to museum observers and to particular interest to museum studies specialists, colleagues, and patrons.

Dashboard Series: Stream Gage Height

Height of the White River at the IMA

The latest USGS stream gage reading from the Art & Nature Park, relative to flood stage.

This chart shows data that was measured by the USGS stream gage sensor monitoring the White River at the IMA. This type of chart is known as a hydrograph, and shows the level of a stream over a period of time. Hydrographs are used to assess the extent of flooding in an area, and we hope to make use of this data to inform our visitors about the condition of the park.

The readings from the sensor located in the park are typically between about five and eight feet, but can approach flood stage at fifteen feet when major storms pass through the region.

*The colored regions indicate the flood and action stages reported by the National Weather Service on March 25, 2008.
